Older adults who are well-nourished not only feel better, research shows they have stronger immune systems and recover from illness faster. As we age, however, our nutrition requirements change – the need for calories decreases while the need for some nutrients  increases. Absorption of nutrients may also decline. These are important dietary factors older adults need to be aware of when making food and nutritional supplement choices.
